We made it a year, and I've finally written my birth story.

As the birth of my girls approaches, it brings back many memories. Some of which are hard to share. I have been thinking about everything th...

With twins I have a lot of doubles in my house. Two cribs, two seats, two of a ton of things. Going through and using things as much as I do, I figured I'd share with you some of my thoughts on these products. Hopefully I can help you figure out what may or may not work best for you based on my experiences. Keep checking back because I will continue to update this page with my favorites, and not so favorite items.

Baby Carriers:
I tried out the Boba carrier originally. It's a great place to start. Not overly expensive (around $30), and once you figure out how to wrap it, it works quite well. It can be a bit tricky to learn how to wrap it in the beginning but stick with it. It is perfect for when your little one is still very small. Just be careful to make sure they can breathe easily (no chin on chest).

Once my girls got bigger, I moved onto the  TwinGo. I really love this carrier. It gives you the option to carrier both babies at the same time.  You can also split it into two carriers so you and a friend or your spouse can carrier one baby. It's comfortable, has a rain/shade cover, and a pocket to keep a few personal items. It is a bit pricey (around $215) but if you can afford it go for it. It makes life much easier not having to lug the big strollers around. You just grab the carrier and off with the babies you go.

Buying a stroller..
As you start your search on buying baby items, you will notice there isn't much variety or option when it comes to baby gear for multiples. Originally I wanted a stroller I could run with off-road. I had picked it out, taken it home and got it all set up. I was very excited about it. Of course when we found out we were having twins, that had to go back and we started our search over. Decisions decisions. To buy a side by side style, or the front to back ones. I read the pros and cons about both and went with the side by side. Most people said the front to back ones felt like they were pushing around a train and it was difficult to maneuver. I tested them out in the baby store and agree. The side by side style turns around swiftly, and is pretty easy to move around. I am still in the testing stages as I have only had it out a few times. So far so good. It is about the size of a large wheelchair and will even fit through the front door to our house (although a bit tight). I figure if people can get those electric scooter/shopping carts around the grocery store, my stroller should fit too.

I went with a Graco Fast Action Fold Duo Click Connect stroller that looks just like this:

It has vents on the back flap so I can see both babies. That was one of the main reasons I chose this style of stroller. I didn't like that with the train style stroller I couldn't see the baby in the front as easily. Their car seats snap right in and off we go. It has a cargo area under the seats (which can also recline once the girls get bigger), and I can attach my bag to the handle bars which is nice considering everything I need to take with twins. I will note that it takes up the entire trunk space of my ford escape, so make sure you check that it will fit into your car. All in all it does exactly what I need it to. It has made life much easier. Our babies don't weigh a ton yet, but carrying two babies in car seats can get heavy quick.

Let's talk car seats.
We bought car seats that snap into our stroller. So that will be something to consider when you are purchasing a car seat and/or stroller. Try to get ones that work together. Our infant car seats have been amazing. They have separate bases that we never have to take in and out of the car, and our parents can buy just the base (which is much cheaper-$50 each) then the actual car seat. I can load them both up in the house and just carry them out to the car together that way. I don't have to try and awkwardly load them in the car. It also makes it easy when they are sleepy. We just carry them in the house, lift them out and into bed they go. Usually they just fall back asleep. We bought the Graco Snugride Click Connect car seats (I believe the classic connect was recalled). We looked at Baby Trend strollers, pack and plays, etc and felt that they were of poor quality. Graco wasn't overly expensive and seemed to be more stable and of better quality then others. The car seats we picked out are around $100 each.
